Mandelic Acid Face Mask

The mandelic acid, chemically defined as alpha-hydroxybenzenacetic acid, differs from other AHAs in its molecular dimensions which are considerably larger, for example, than glycolic acid. This feature allows it to effectively carry out its keratolytic action without being irritating to the skin like other alpha hydroxy acids. Mandelic acid has proved to have excellent activity as a chemical peel that acts without causing burning or redness, without going to the detriment of effectiveness. On the contrary, the ingredient is particularly active in the repair and reactivation of aged skin, also possessing inherent depigmenting and antibiotic properties, such as making it a product of choice in the treatment of inflammatory acne. Thanks to its chemical/physical characteristics, mandelic acid-based treatments are called "summer peels" since, unlike those that contain other AHAs, mandelic acid is not photosensitizing. Treatments of this type can therefore be used throughout the year and are not affected by the patient's phototype; in particular, it can be applied on high phototypes precisely because of the absence of the risk of hyperpigmentation.

PROPERTY:

Mandelic acid also guarantees greater activity than other peeling treatments, and faster action times, but with the enhancement of the depigmenting activity and then compacting and regenerating power of the skin surface. It has no particular contraindications for those who use UVA lamps.

METHOD OF USE:

Apply a light layer of the mask on the part affected by the treatment. Leave on for about 7-10 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
